How to Interview for an Employment Agency Job
Employment agencies seek candidates that have a diverse skill set, positive attitude and relevant work experience. Interviewing for an employment agency job can be stressful, but there are a few steps you can take to make the process easier and increase your chances of getting the job.
- Research the company you are interviewing with. If you go into your interview not knowing anything about the company you are trying to work with, you probably won’t get hired. Employers want to hire long-term workers who are interested in helping their company succeed. Be ready to state why you want to work with this specific company and what you’ll bring to the table if you get hired.
- Practice answering questions in front of a mirror or with a friend. The way you answer questions will determine whether you’ll be considered for the job or told that you aren’t a fit. Be prepared to answer any questions that concern your experience, education and even personality.
- Get ready the night before. To avoid being late on the day of your interview, get ready the night before. Lay your clothes out, and print out directions. Put a small notebook and a copy of your resume into your handbag or briefcase. Estimate how long it might take you to get to your interview, and add on half an hour just in case.
- Be confident and professional during your interview. Employment agencies look for candidates that are enthusiastic, outgoing and self-assured. Answer all questions promptly and never interrupt you interviewer. Don’t be afraid to ask any questions you might have about the position or the company. Before you leave, ask for contact information, so you can send a thank you note later.
