How to Keep a Dog from Jumping a PVC Fence

Keeping a dog from jumping over a PVC fence is in the best interest of the dog, the dog owner and people it may potentially bite. A dog can jump over a PVC fence and end up getting hit by a car. The dog may be frightened by a person and bite him or her. There are several methods that you can use to stop a dog from jumping over a PVC fence.

  • Use a dog chain when your dog is
outside. This is an option that will keep your dog inside the fence. Make sure that the dog chain has enough length and
gives your dog enough freedom to roam. The dog chain can be secured
to a heavy object or a stake placed into the ground. Simply walk
your dog outside and attach the dog to the dog chain.

  • Use a wireless dog fence. This is
another option that can stop a dog from jumping over a PVC fence.
Wireless dog fences can be purchased at a local store or via the Internet. Make sure the wireless dog fence is the right size for the
physical fence you are trying to keep the dog from jumping.

  • Plant bushes in front of the
PVC fence. This is yet another way to stop a dog from jumping over the
fence. Make sure that the bushes are large enough to block the dog
from gaining any momentum for a jump attempt. Make sure that the
bushes block the dog from being able to use the PVC fence as
    leverage.

  • Be sure to remove any objects
located by the PVC fence that the dog can use to jump off of and
    over the fence.
