How to Kill White Mold
White mold can cause huge problems for homeowners. It is important to locate and deal with the problem as soon as possible. White mold not only will destroy certain parts of your home but it can cause health problems as well. There are things you can do to treat white mold in your home.
Items Needed to Kill White Mold:
- Clorox Bleach
- Warm Water
- Cloth
- Spray Bottle
- Fan
How to Kill White Mold
- Work in a well-ventilated area. Open windows and doors to allow fresh air to flow in the area.
- Make a bleach and water solution to kill the white mold. Use about 1 part of Clorox bleach and add it to 1 part of water. Pour the solution in a spray bottle.
- Protect your face and clothing from the mold while cleaning. If you are one that suffers from upper respiratory infections or diseases, you may need to hire a professional to get rid of the mold for you.
- Saturate the area with affected with the mold with the solution. Allow it to sit for approximately 25 minutes. Depending upon the size of the area needing to be treated, you may have to let the solution sit a little longer.
- Wipe the area down with warm water and a clean cloth. Make sure you wipe the area until all of the white mold is gone.
- Spray the area with the bleach solution until you are sure the mold has been killed. You will have to repeat the process to allow it to dry. You should continue to repeat the process until you are satisfied all the white mold has been killed.
- Allow the affected area to air dry. You can use a fan to help it along. Your area should be free of white mold.
