How to Lace Dress Shoes
Dress shoes are essential for a man going to a formal affair. A man's shoes are one of the first things that some people notice on a well-dressed man. Therefore, it is very important that they are nice and well maintained.
Some men are very picky about the clothes and shoes they wear, which makes them literally no different than women when it comes to their appearance. There are some men who even take the time to lace their dress shoes in a certain way. There is no wrong or right way to lace dress shoes, but there are some ways that look better than others.
- Push each end of the shoelace into the bottom hole on each side of the shoe. It should be put in from the top going downward.
- Pull both ends of the shoelaces to make sure they are even.
- Take one end of the lace and cross over to the other side and pull it up through the hole. Remember you are going from the bottom up.
- Take the other end of the lace and cross over to the other side and pull it up through the next available hole.
- Keep repeating steps 3 and 4 until you have completely laced the shoe.
- Pull on both ends of the lace to ensure they are both even in length. If they are uneven loosening the laces and pulling on the shorter lace to take out the slack can easily adjust the laces.
