It involves any activity you do while on your feet and legs that works your muscles and bones against gravity. During weightbearing exercise, bone adapts to the impact of weight and the pull of muscle by building more bone cells. Consequently, bone becomes stronger and more dense. Weight-bearing exercise may include walking, jogging, hiking and dancing.

  3. Avoiding damage can be an initiative to help your efforts of maintaining bone density. Avoid strict diets that restrict food intake significantly. Smoking and tobacco should also be avoided because the chemicals in tobacco can weaken your bones and subsequently destroy them. Alcohol can also be damaging to your bones because it restricts your body from absorbing calcium. It is also important to note that taking necessary precautions in high risk activities will help you maintain your bone health.
