How to Make 3d Sunglasses
3D glasses are very popular in today’s society. 3D glasses are used in movie theaters and now 3D televisions in are homes. 3D glasses are glasses with opposite color lenses. The color red is used on the left eye and the right eye is covered with different colors like cyan, blue or green colors.
Supplies needed:
- Cardboard
- Template (optional)
- Scissors
- Pieces of plastic
- Markers
- Glue
- Use a thick piece of cardboard, and draw a pair of glasses with a pencil onto the cardboard. There are also readymade templates that can be purchased online or at a craft store.
- Cut out the glasses with a scissors. Try not to go over the outline of the glasses. Next, cut the holes out that form the lenses. Cut the holes by poking holes into the cardboard then cut carefully onto the lines around the holes on the glasses. Using smaller scissors will make it easier to cut out the holes.
- Prepare the glasses to make the lenses. Readymade plastic in blue and yellow can be used, or just color a piece of clear plastic with a red and blue marker.
- Cut the paper lenses into the shape needed to make the lenses. Make the lenses a little bigger than, the holes are on the glasses.
- Place the lenses onto the cardboard glasses. The lens hole must be entirely covered. Apply a small drop of glue onto the lenses, and press firmly onto the cardboard backing.
- Cover the cardboard glasses with the cutout that was made earlier. This covers the excess lenses and will finish the design.
- Discard your new 3D glasses after a few uses and make a new pair with the materials that were left over from your last project.
