How to Make All White Flower Arrangements

An all-white flower arrangement can be stunning. The single color makes the arrangement more dramatic. Making an all-white flower arrangement is not very complex. The hardest part is choosing the vase. When deciding on the flowers, the only rule, other than the flowers being all white, is that the textures go well together.

Items needed:

  • A white vase

  • Several varieties of white flowers

  • Shears

  • Water

  • Flower food

  1. Choose flowers with a couple of different textures to make the arrangement more interesting. Choose smooth or shiny textures along with another flower that has a rough texture. Of course, be sure all of your choices are white. White Hyacinth, white roses, white tulips and white ranunculus are some flower choices that would work well together.

  2. Choose your vase. Once you know the height of the flowers you have chosen, it is easier to decide on the container. If most of your flowers are smooth, a smooth container would look best, if most are rough, a boxy textured container would be a good choice.

  3. Fill your vase with warm water and flower food.

  4. Strip your flowers of any leaves that will be below the water line. This helps to keep the water clean longer.

  5. Make a diagonal cut in the bottom stem of each flower. This will help them to drink. You want you flowers to be about twice the height of your vase, except for the focal flowers. Choose a few focal flowers that will be a couple of inches taller than the rest. These will be placed in the middle of the arrangement.

  6. Begin placing stems into the vase. Divide the vase into quarters and work from one edge toward the middle all the way around.

  7. Step away from the vase to check on the arrangement every so often to make sure it is pleasing to look at.

  8. Change the water every few days, and re-cut the stems to make them last longer.
