How to Make Anime Outfits
Making an anime costume is basically as simple as you make it. Anime character costumes can be very hard to replicate if character’s outfit calls for a lot of minute details. You may have to brush up on some sewing skills or have someone help you with any tailoring to perfect the costume.
- Find all of the main parts required to make your anime costume. You may choose to go to a thrift shop for a more affordable option. You’d be surprised with how many different clothing styles can be available at thrift stores.
- Use a measuring tape to check your measurements, and write them all down. You’ll need these sizes if you’re going to be sewing together the entire costume from scratch. Get a sewing kit with all the proper sewing materials if you do not have one.
- Locate a pattern using your measurements, if you wish. Patterns make outfits much easier to create so your sewing skills don’t have to be fantastic.
- Create the main parts of the costume then shop for all of the smaller accessories like weapons or jewelry.
- Put the costume on throughout the construction process to see how it fits and looks in the mirror. You can compare yourself to a picture of the anime character you’re trying to look like to check the accuracy of the costume.
- Take a picture of the character to a tailor or costume maker if you don’t believe you have the skills to create your costume. Choose someone who has made anime costumes in the past if possible. They may be able to show you some of their work.
