  • Half cup olive oil

  • 10 to 15 drop lavender or vanilla essential oils

  1. Combine the three ingredients and mix well.

  2. Store the mixture in an air tight container for later use

  3. Use the mixture prior to taking a shower, and you will notice smooth moist skin after use.

Method 2

Supplies

  • 1/2 cup ground almonds

  • 1/2 cup ground oatmeal

  • 1/4 cup almond oil

  • 1tsp vanilla extract

  • Small container with a lid

  • Spatula

  • Bowl

  • 1/2 cup dark or light brown sugar

  1. Buy all your ingredients if you do not have any available at home. You can find all these items at your local grocery store. For the container, use empty baby jars or go to a dollar store and purchase mason jars with lid.

  2. Take all the ingredients and combine in a large bowl make sure you blend completely. The mixture when blended properly will give the appearance of a pasty texture. Adjust the mixture if you find it is too oily by adding more of the dry ingredients, and if it is too dry add more oil until you achieve the desired consistency.

  3. Get your jar and add the mixture into the jar and sealed the jar lid tightly. Add a label or ribbon if you are giving the sugar scrub as a gift, or you just want it to look nice.

  4. Mix the mixture when you are ready to use because this recipe will settle after storage.

  5. Experiment with different essential oil such as grapefruit, peppermint, which you can purchase at specialty markets as well as craft stores.

  6. Exercise caution when you use this sugar scrub because the olive oil and sugar combination is slippery and you may sustain injury.
