How to Make Designer Clothes
If you enjoy designing clothes and want to create a line yourself, you can easily achieve this. To create designer looking clothing and to make them unique you will need a few supplies. You can make the clothing you desire with just a little practice and skill.
Things you will need:
- Sketch pad
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Sewing kit
- Sewing machine
- Clothing tags
- Paper
- Make a name for your brand. Have your brand have a unique name that makes people interested in the product.
- Write down ideas for your clothing. You want your clothing to be appealing to people so think of ideas that make you look at clothing items. This is the style of your clothing, the way the clothing represents itself. This could be as simple as a diamond heart attached somewhere on the clothing.
- Use you sketch pad and sketch down some ideas of your clothing. When sketching you will want to use a pencil and make sure you have a good eraser because you are going to be correcting a lot of things along the way.
- Take your sketches of the clothing you want to design to a pattern maker so they can make a pattern for you. You may want to purchase a pattern of every size you want to make of the clothing.
- Choose your fabric. Make sure the fabric is the right color and style you want to design your clothing from.
- Put your fabric out on a clean and flat surface so it can easily be worked with.
- Attach the pattern on the fabric using the pins. Make sure the pins are securely in place so the pattern wont move while working with it.
- Cut out the pattern from the fabric using the scissors.
- Follow the pattern and sew your fabric together using the sewing machine. Make sure you have thread that is the same color as the fabric so it cant be noticeable.
- Create a clothing tag for your clothes and attach them on the inside the item.
