How to Make Egg Yolk Hair Conditioner
You can make your own egg yolk conditioner at home with items you already have on hand. This is the least expensive way to have hair that is soft and shiny without breaking the bank. It also is a great way to avoid using conditioners that are full of harmful chemicals.
Items Needed:
- Small bowl
- Egg
- Olive or coconut oil
- Whisk
- Water
- Bottle
- Place a small bowl on the counter. Crack open one egg. Make sure you separate the egg white from the yolk. You want to keep the egg yolk to use in the conditioner. Eggs are beneficial to the hair because they are high protein, which strengthens the hair follicles while adding texture, volume and shine to the hair.
- Next pour in 1-tablespoon olive oil. You can also substitute coconut oil for the olive oil if you desire a more pleasant fragrance. Olive oil is great at keeping your hair from breaking, which help it grow much faster. Coconut oil has the same benefits while adding a pleasant fragrance.
- Use a whisk to mix the oil and egg yolk. Make sure they are completely blended. Add 1-cup water to the bowl. Do not use warm or hot water in the mixture because it may cook the egg. Blend the mixture again with the whisk.
- You can pour the mixture into a bottle to take into the shower. When you use the conditioner, use one part on the top of your head and the remaining conditioner to the ends of your hair. Allow the conditioner to sit on the hair for 10 minutes. Rinse the conditioner out of your hair with lukewarm water.
