How to Make Hand Lotion

If you use hand lotion on a regular basis, you should consider making your own at home. It is the perfect alternative to buying expensive lotion from the store. Another benefit of making your own lotion is you have the ability to create a unique scent.

How to Make Hand Lotion

1. Combine 1/4 cup of olive oil and 1 cup of emulsifying wax in a bowl and microwave for 1 minute or until melted.




2. Add 24 to 36 drops of essential oil to the mixture.




3. Pour 1 1/4 cup of water in a bowl and heat in microwave for 1 minute.




4. Pour the hot water into the olive oil mixture and it should turn milky white.




5. Pour the hot lotion into pint size jars and let it cool overnight. Using a jar with a wide mouth will make it easier to transfer the lotion to smaller containers.




6. The hand lotion will be ready to use the next morning.
