How to Make Health Drinks
You can make your own health drinks at home using ingredients you may already have on hand. If you have to purchase some of the ingredients, it is still less expensive then purchasing a health drink from a restaurant or store. You can learn how to make health drinks in a few short steps.
Supplies
- Fresh fruit and vegetables
- Juicer
- Knife
- Purchase small seeded fruit, such as pears or watermelon. This type of fruit can be juiced with the seeds, except for apple or papaya seeds. If you use orange or grapefruit, these seeds will make your juice taste too bitter. If you use this type of fruit, it will need to be seeded first. If you select nectarines or peaches, remove the large pits before juicing.
- Peel the fruits and vegetables that you are using, unless they are organically grown. If they are not organically grown, there will be chemicals in the peeling. If you use pineapple, kiwi, oranges, grapefruits, or papaya, the skins should be removed whether grown organically or non-organically.
- Make sure the fruit and vegetables that you select are ripe and fresh. If you use vegetables and fruit that are not fresh or ripe, your juice will not taste good or be very healthy for you.
- Cut the vegetables and fruits into small pieces that fit into the juice machine. Power on the juice machine and push the pieces of fruit and vegetables through the mouth of it. The pulp from the fruit and vegetables will collect into a receptacle. You should clean this out as soon as you finish making the juice.
- Drink the juice within one day. It will usually not store much longer than this.
