How to Make Indoor Beach Party Decorations

Any time of the year is a good time to have an indoor beach party. Send out invitations asking your guest to dress in their favorite beach outfits. Creating your own colorful decorations and planning fun activities is sure to impress your guest of all ages.

1. Greet your guest at the door with leis. You can make these by cutting flower shapes out of construction paper or scrapes of material. Cut a hole in the flower center. Insert a heavy string through the center of the flower. Add flowers until you have the size you want. Tie the two ends together to complete.

2. Add sand to a large clear grass bowl. This is to be used as a centerpiece for your table. You can purchase sand at a nursery center or department store that would sell plants. Place various sized seashells and a large candle for lighting inside the bowl. Scatter the remaining seashells around the table.

3. Cover your guest chairs with beach towels and a grass skirt.

4. Place a rope across the room and hang flip flops, bathing suits and miniature blow up beach balls. These can be tied on or you can use clothespins to connect them to the rope.

5. Blow up several beach balls in different sizes and place them in all areas of the house.

6. Purchase a long wooden pole and decorate it with crape paper and add streamers on the ends. This can be used for the limbo dance. The winner can go home with the decorated pole.

7. Place small fish bowls with a few goldfish in them around the room. Pass them out to your guest when they leave.
