How to Make Money at Home by Being a Tailor
If you have special sewing skills, then you can make money by working from home. This is a great career and opportunity for many individuals who do not enjoying working a regular nine to five job. The options are unlimited when working out of your home.
One place to start getting business is from a dry cleaner service. Many dry cleaners have a lot of tailoring work that needs a skilled tailor's skills. Give them a call and ask if they have any work you could do for them. They will expect for you to do quality work and have it finished on time. If possible go to the cleaners and show them some of your work.
Check with local nursing homes or assisted living homes. Sometimes many families will pay individuals to alter and sew clothing for family members. Some individuals in the home will have family members pay to have things made for them.
Try putting ads in newspapers, and on Craigslist. You can even make flyers and brochures and pass them out in the community. If you have business cards printed up you can pass them out to friends, and prospective clients.
