How to Make Ninja Weapons

Ninjas date back to feudal Japan at which time they worked as a mercenary.  They used numerous weapons to perform numerous acts of war such as espionage and assassinations.  The best known weapons include the throwing star and the blowgun.  Many people are still interested in these ninja weapons today.

Blow Gun

1. Measure a 3-inch triangle on a metal sheet. Use a permanent marker to draw out this triangle


2. Use a pair of metal cutters to cut the triangle out.


3. Roll up your triangle into the shape of a cone. Use a pair of pliers to crimp the tip of the cone together so that there is no longer a hole there.


4. Seal the edges of the cone together with duct tape. 


5. Stick a piece of chewing gum through the cone’s tip into the base of it in order to add some weight and speed to the weapon that you are creating.


6. Cut out a piece of 1-foot long PVC pipe that measures 1 inch wide. 


7. Now that you have created the making of your new blow gun, aim it at a target and blow your dart.  See how well it works and what, if anything, you can do in order to improve it the next time.

Ninja Stars

1. Use a ruler to trace a line from one end of a CD to another (either top to bottom or side to side).


2. Turn your CD 90 degrees and use your ruler to draw another line set of parallel lines like you just did.   These will be parallel to your first set of lines (all of your lines should run through the opposite side of the circle that is located within the middle of the CD).  So, if your first line was from top to bottom, this one will be from side to side.  However, if your first line was side to side, then this one will be from top to bottom.


3. Use the ruler to draw a line from the intersection of one line to the perimeter of your CD then to the intersection of a parallel line and the inner circle of the CD.  Continue doing this until you have four diagonal lines. 


4. Use an exacto knife to cut the lines out.  This will create your ninja throwing star.
