Why Use Goat Milk Soap

How to Make Organic Goat Milk Soap

If you are looking for a gentle non-abrasive type of cleanser for your skin you should highly consider using organic goat milk soap. It is great to use on all skin types and it is fairly easy to make at home.

Ingredients Needed:

  • 5 ounces of organic palm oil

  • 15 ounces of organic olive oil

  • 1/2 cup or organic oatmeal

  • 3.5 ounces of lye

  • 5 ounces of organic coconut oil

  • 8 ounces of goat milk

  • 1 ounce of essential oil

  1. Mix the organic oatmeal and the essential oil (optional) in a bowl and set if off to the side.

  2. Combine all the remaining ingredients in a large stainless steel bowl.

  3. Use a wooden spoon and mix thoroughly.

  4. Pour the soap base mixture in a slow cooker and set it on medium heat.

  5. Continue heating and stirring the mixture until it has completely melted.

  6. Stir the essential oil mixture into the slow cooker with the other ingredients. The lilac or lavender oils are very popular oils to use in the soap, but you can choose whatever scent you prefer or you can skip adding a scent to the soap if one is not desired.

  7. Turn off the heat under the mixture and give it some time to cool down. You do not want it to get cold. It should only be allowed to cool down enough for you to safely handle it without getting burned.

  8. Pour the soap mixture into molds and allow it to cool for at least 24 hours.

  9. Remove the soap for the molds and it is ready to use.
