Show Jacket
- Find a pattern that you like for your western show jacket. Most show jackets have long sleeves, a zipper down the front and pretty embellishments. Decorations for a western jacket may include studs, sequins, fringe, glitter or rhinestones.
- Choose a unique fabric for your jacket.
- Follow the instructions that come with the pattern to cut the fabric into pieces for your jacket.
- Use fabric chalk to outline the shapes of the pattern, and cut around the outlines with scissors.
- Turn the pieces of fabric inside out, and prepare to use your sewing machine. If you do not own a sewing machine, you may need to enlist a friend or family member to help you.
- Follow the instructions that come with the pattern, and sew the pieces of fabric together. Check the stitching on the other side of the fabric periodically to make sure that it looks nice. Once you have finished sewing the jacket together, sew the zipper onto the jacket.
- Draw designs for your jacket on a piece of paper until you have found the design you would like for your jacket.
- Add the embellishments to your jacket. You may wish to embroider a design with a needle and thread, or attach rhinestones and gems to the jacket.
- Try attaching sequins and beads with a needle and thread for a beautiful western show jacket.
