How to Make Your Own Organic Cosmetics

Once applied cosmetics absorb into the skin. This is why it's important when making your own cosmetics, to make sure they are organic. The organic cosmetics you make should be edible. This doesn't necessarily mean they should taste good or that you should eat them, but making cosmetics using this rule will ensure safety.

  1. Take a food bowl and fill it up about halfway to the top with water. Pour some original instant oats into the water. Use only enough oatmeal to soak up the water, too much will make it too runny, and not enough will make it too dry. The oats will absorb the water and eventually soften.

  2. Pour the now soft oatmeal into a blender. Add almonds to the oatmeal. Put the lid on the blender and turn it on. Keep blending the ingredients until you have created a fine texture.

  3. Add rose and lavender flower pedals to the blended ingredients. Blend the ingredients together once again. The flowers will add a great smell to your cosmetics.

  4. Crush a few more of the rose and lavender flower pedals into mulch.

  5. Put the contents of the blender into a jar that is able to be sealed airtight. Before adding the lid, put the extra crushed flowers into the jar on top of the other ingredients.

  6. Make a paste with the ingredients by adding coconut or almond oil. This paste can be used to rub on the neck and face. It can be used as a skin moisturizer or as facial scrub.

  7. Put any of the ingredients you may have left over back inside the airtight jar and seal it. This will keep the cosmetics fresh for the next time you use them. The mixture also makes a great gift for birthdays.
