How to Make Your Own Printed Award Ribbons
Making your own ribbon awards is a cheap alternative to purchasing them from a supplier and allows you to be creative, making them as personal and unique as you desire. You can use the word processing program on your computer to create the ribbon design.
- Click on the "Start" button in your computer's desktop toolbar. Click on the "Programs" tab, and choose the word processing program from the list.
- Click on the "New" button to start a new project. If the program offers ribbon or award templates, click on this option. Otherwise, choose the "Blank Document" option.
- Type what you want the ribbons to say. If you are creating awards for a certain event, type the name of the sports team, club or organization at the top of the ribbon. Type the year below it.
- If you want to make each ribbon personal, type the recipient's name.
- Type the club member rank or sports team position if applicable. If the award is for a special reason, type the reason somewhere on the ribbon.
- If the award is for first, second or third place, make note of it. You can use clip art images to create a number.
- Add images to the ribbon if desired. Use your word processing clip art program to find an image that fits with the theme of the ribbon or special event.
- Move the text and images around on the ribbon to change the design. Each ribbon may be the same, or each one can be created differently. Click on the "Print" button to print out as many copies as needed of the completed design.
