How to Make Your Own Toddler Adjustable Beds

There comes a time when your toddler will outgrow his crib and need more space. Small toddler beds are available on the market that sit low to the floor in case the child rolls out of bed. Some even come with rails to prevent this from happening, but soon your toddler will outgrow this bed as well. Here is a way to create an adjustable toddler bed that can grow with your child.

How to Make Your Own Toddler Adjustable Beds

  1. Decide what size bed can fit in your child's room and purchase either a full or twin size bed.

  2. In order to make a regular size bed safe for your toddler you need to buy a bed rail. A hide-away bed rail can be attached to any size bed and can slide under the mattress any time it is not needed. This type of rail is adjustable in length to prevent the child from falling out of the bed no matter where he is sleeping on the bed.

  3. The bed rail can be completely removed when the child is old enough to sleep without falling out of the bed.

  4. Purchasing a regular mattress allows you to use it all the way until your child leaves home. It can then be used for guests or when he comes home to visit.
