How to Make a Beautician Portfolio

If you want to become a beautician, you should always have a portfolio that exemplifies your work and what you are capable of doing. Placing several photos of the work you have performed on clients in your portfolio can help you to score several more jobs with other clients.

  1. Take a picture of your client before you begin doing their hair or makeup. Once you are finished applying makeup and doing hair, take an after picture. These pictures will be used to make the comparison as to how you transformed the average individual into something magnificent with your talent.

  2. Take pictures of all the work you do for your clients. You want to capture plenty of different looks and styles so that your portfolio will be full of versatility. When prospective clients are looking through your portfolio, they will want to see if you can do more than just a few simple things.

  3. Place all of the different pictures you have taken of past clients into a spiral binder with laminated pages. You want to keep your pictures safe with laminated pages to protect them from any damage. You also want to keep all of your pictures together in a decently sized binder because that will help you to keep them organized.

  4. Continue to build your portfolio by doing different types of makeup and hairstyles for your current clients. You should display people of all ages and races in your portfolio. You want your prospective clients to see that you know how to do hair and makeup for people of any race, gender, or age.
