How to Make a Candy Buffet Bar
Candy buffet bars are one of the latest trends in wedding receptions and parties. They are fun for guests and add color to the party. For a successful candy buffet, carefully plan how much candy you will need to avoid running out.
Candy buffet bars are fun for your guests, no matter how old they are. They will feel like the proverbial kid in a candy store. Candy buffet bars are easy to maintain and stock during the party, but will require some planning before the big event.
What You Need
- Table
- Containers for candy
- Scoops
- Candy
- Bowls or plates
- Choose five to 10 types of candy. Pick the guest of honor's favorite kinds and other types of candy that are popular. You can also choose the candy based on the theme of the party or the colors.
- Buy 15 to 20 pounds of each type of candy, depending on the number of guests. Buy more of each candy if you are offering only five kinds.
- Display candy in attractive containers. Clear containers work best so guests can see what type of candy is available. Containers do not have to match. Mismatched containers of varying heights add interest to the table.
- Place a candy scoop in each container so guests can serve themselves.
- Have small bowls or plates available on the table for guests. Cellophane bags can also be used so guests can take their candy home with them.
- Designate one person to be in charge of the candy buffet. They will need to check candy levels periodically and fill as needed.
