How to Make a Documentary Film Using Windows Media Player
Making a documentary is an excellent way to portray a reality, but it requires a lot of filming and editing. This will ensure the documentary flows seamlessly. Fortunately, you do not have to be a professional video editor to create documentaries; it can be done with the use of a personal computer, Windows Media Player, and a lot of patience.
- Capture the footage that will be needed to convey the documentary. Remember the longer the footage, the better since you may have to delete some scenes during the editing process. You will also need a plug in called “Windows Media Player Trimmer plug-in” by Solveig Multimedia.
- Load your footage onto the Windows Media Player timeline, which is done by transfering videos from a camera onto a computer via a USB cord usually equipped with camera.
- Use the plugin to delete the footage that is not needed. Editing can be a very time-consuming task, but remember not to get discouraged. Be sure to save you work after each scene in case you have deleted one by accident, saving your work will allow you to undo changes instead of starting all over.
- Once you have finished editing the documentary film, next you will need to load any additional audio to a designated spot on the timeline. This can be done by uploading a media file from any storage device such as a hard drive, flash drive or CD and DVD.
- One the film is complete, save you work to a desired storage location or burn to a CD or DVD.
