Although you can purchase candy molds, making your own would be a great way to create something unique, which would make it great for a special occasion. They are fairly simple to make and your unique creation will certainly please you.
How to Make a Hard Candy Mold
- Cut a piece of foil into shapes of your choice. It could be something simple like a diamond or something that is more unique. The foil should be cut approximately 1/2-inch larger than the size you want the product to be.
- Fold the sides of the foil up approximately 1/2-inch.
- Seal the edges of the foil with freezer tape to add some stability to the mold. This will also prevent the molds from leaking.
- Slowly pour some liquid candy into the mold. You can make a beautiful stained glass looking mold by pouring in two different colors of liquid candy and using a toothpick to swirl the colors together.
- Allow the candy to harden.
- Gently remove the foil from the mold once the candy has hardened.
