How to Make a Monthly House Cleaning Schedule
Maintaining a clean and organized home can be difficult. However, creating a monthly schedule can take off some of the load and make your job much easier. Just like with many other tasks, your ability to break a larger job into smaller parts can improve efficiency and consistency.
What You'll Need:
- Paper
- Pen
- Calendar
- Establish a time for when you plan to perform your daily house-cleaning task. Determine whether morning, afternoon or night is best suited for your schedule. Pick a time of day that is convenient for your current schedule. Creating a plan and sticking to it will increase your chances of success.
- Be sure not to load too many task into one day or week in order not to overload yourself.
- Create and plan a task list of your daily cleaning activities. These tasks should include making your bed, washing dishes, putting away laundry, putting away toys, cleaning the stove, washing the kitchen and bathroom counter-tops, taking out the trash, managing recyclables and cleaning the litter boxes.
- Next, create and plan a task list of weekly cleaning activities. These task should include cleaning the bathroom, the kitchen, dusting the furniture and shelves, vacuuming, mopping, changing bed linens and sweeping your porch or other hard surfaces. Keep in mind the kitchen and bathroom are generally the hardest task and it may be best to get them out of the way first.
- Every two weeks plan on sweeping out your garage. You'll also want to take your rugs outside before vacuuming them.
