How to Make a Wedding Reception Gift Card Box
A wedding gift card box is a creative way to have a place for guests to give gifts that are small and easy to lose, like a card. Making a gift card box is easy and can be another decorating tool to show off the style of the wedding.
- Get three boxes that are in graduating sizes. One way to find boxes is to use hatboxes since many can come in a set with multiple sizes.
- Cut a round hole in the lids of the largest and second largest boxes. Make sure the holes are large enough for the envelopes to fall down to the bottom. Test out the size of the holes by using a standard sized greeting card. Use a box-cutting knife since they are made for cutting these kinds of boxes with ease.
- Cut a slit in the smallest box. This hole should be long and thin but big enough for guests to easily slide their envelopes in.
- Decorate the boxes. Paint each box or wrap in gift wrapping paper or something similar. Use ribbons or flowers to show off you wedding colors. Don't overdo your decorating because you don't want your gift card box to look tacky. Since this is shaped like a wedding cake, a fun thing could be placing a wedding cake topper on the smallest box. Just make sure you don’t block the gift card slot.
- Stack all the boxes with the smallest box on top. Use craft glue to put the boxes together. Allow time to dry and wipe of any excess glue before displaying.
