How to Massage the Feet

After a day of walking all over the place a good foot massage can go a long way. There are devices out there that are designed to perform foot massages. However foot massages that are performed by the use of a person's hands can help to relieve pain in areas that many devices are unable to reach.

  1. Ask the person who you are performing the massage on to lie down on the bed. Their arms and legs should be fully stretched out away from the body.

  2. Put massage oil on your hands and rub them together. Put both of hands on the top of the foot. Use a bit of pressure to slide your hand across the entire foot. Starting from the ankle, the sole, then moving towards the toes.

  3. Place your hands around the sole of the individual’s foot and beginning kneading towards the ankle. Repeat this step a couple of times before moving on.

  4. Use your forefinger and thumb to pull on the toes. Use one hand to hold the foot and the other to pull the toes. The toes should be in between your forefinger and thumb as you pull.

  5. Use your finger tips to slightly massage the foot and complete the entire foot massage.
