How to Open a University Business School
As with any type of business, making the choice to start your own business school is a risky venture. As long as you take the time to plan accordingly, the effort and time it takes to get this business off of the ground is well worth it.
- Create a business plan. You will need to determine a mission statement, objectives and set goals where you plan to have the business once it opens as well as years down the road. In this plan you will also need to include the proposed curriculum for the school as well as way you plan to market and advertise the school to prepare it for opening.
- Determine the costs of enrollment and other tuition expenses. You will need to calculate material costs, office furniture and school books and supplies. When calculating the projected costs of all items, make sure to include the income you expect to make over the course of each semester. If you prefer to make it more specific, you can also choose to do so on a monthly and daily basis.
- Confirm the rules and regulations for your state. You must ensure that you get all of the necessary approvals needed to run the school. If you do not obtain this aspect of the preparation process, you could end up losing a great deal of money on the back end because it will be very likely that you will get shut down until the approvals are received.
- Open your business school as planned and continue to market the available studies to potential students. It is vital that you continuously review your marketing efforts and make necessary changes as you go along.
