How to Paint Lofts
A loft in your house is a perfect place for storage, home office, or a playroom for children. The space is plain looking without painting it. Painting a loft is an easy job and can be done in a couple of hours.
Things you will need:
- Water
- Bucket
- Sponge
- Household Cleaner
- Wood Putty
- Putty Knife
- Coarse Sandpaper
- Rag
- Paintbrush
- Primer
- Paint
- Topcoat
- Get the all-purpose household cleaner. You will need to mix the cleaner with the amount of water that is required into a bucket.
- Get your sponge and swish it around the mixture. When the mixture is completely mixed you can start wiping down the loft. This will help the paint set on the wall. You will have to wait until the wall is completely dry to begin the painting process.
- Get your wood putty and look for any cracks in the loft walls. If there are you will need to apply the wood putty to the crack with the putty knife. You will need to let the putty dry completely before you are able to begin painting the loft.
- Get your sandpaper and sand down the putty. Once the putty has dried you will need to sand it down so it is smooth.
- Get your rag and wipe off the dust where you sanded down the putty.
- Get your primer and apply a coat with your paintbrush. You will need to make sure that the strokes are even so the room is painted equally. You will need to wait until the primer dries completely before you can start painting the loft with the color that you have chosen.
- Get your paint and paintbrush and apply it to the wall. You will want to apply a single coat to the wall with even strokes. Make sure when you are applying the paint to the wall that you are doing so smoothly. You will need to let this coat dry completely and add a second coat of paint to the wall.
- Get the topcoat and apply it to wall. This will help seal the color of the paint on the wall.
