Materials Needed

  • Blue painter’s tape

  • Paint

  • Paint stirrer

  • Bowl

  • Paintbrush

  1. Start with blue painter’s tape. Remove a piece of tape that is 2 feet long from the roll. Place the tape down starting in the corner you will be painting. Rub across the tape to make sure there are no air bubbles in the tape. The tape should be placed on the ceiling where it joins the wall.

  2. Remove the lid from the can of paint and blend it with a paint stirrer. Pour a small amount of paint into a bowl. Grab a small amount of the paint with your paintbrush. Place the paintbrush on the wall in the corner where you first placed the tape. Paint from the corner until you come to the end of the tape.

  3. Make sure you paint at least 3 inches down the wall from the tape. The line is placed here as your guide. You will use a paint roller for the rest of the wall.

  4. Once you reach the end of the tape, remove another 2 feet long piece of tape. Place this piece of tape at the end of the last piece of tape to continue down the ceiling. Press down on it to remove the bubbles.

  5. Grab more paint with your paintbrush and place the paint along the second piece of tape until you reach the end of it. You will continue placing the tape and painting until you have completed the entire area.

  6. Leave the tape on as you paint. Allow the paint to completely dry and remove the tape. Be gentle as you remove it so the paint is not damaged.
