How to Paint a Wall Edge
Painting a wall edge can be a bit of a hassle; however, it must be done properly to ensure the appearance of the final product. Painting efficiently the first time prevents having to paint the entire piece all over again.
Things You'll Need:
- Drop cloth
- Newspapers
- Warm water
- Rag
- Sandpaper
- Paint
- Stirrer
- Tray
- Angled paint brush
- Small paint roller
- Remove all items from the wall and put them in a different area. This ensures that no paint will drip on them.
- Place the drop cloth on the floor where you will be working. This prevents paint from getting on the floor.
- Put the newspaper under the can of paint to prevent any leaking or dripping from the can.
- Sand the walls where needed.
- Wash the walls with a wet rag. Let the wall dry.
- Open the paint can and stir the paint.
- Pour some of the paint into the tray.
- Dip the angled brush into the tray and paint the full length of the wall line for internal corners.
- Dip the small paint roller into the tray and roll over the edge of the wall for the outside corners.
- Use the damp rag and wipe off any mistakes before the paint dries. This gives you a chance to paint the area again without any noticeable errors.
- Apply paint to the area wiped off with the rag.
- Clean all of the tools covered with paint using warm water. This ensures you can use them again in the future.
