How to Pass College English Courses

College English classes are different than high school English classes in many ways. Passing these classes will be more challenging if you're not properly prepared. Being properly prepared for college classes won't take as much effort as most students think.

Things You'll Need:

  • Text Books

  • Notebook

  • Pencil

  1. Regularly attend every class. This might sound weird, but it's not mandatory to be present for every class in many college courses. Obviously the more classes you miss, the more information you'll miss. There should be no reason to miss class unless an emergency comes up.

  2. Obtain all the necessary books. Some students like to try and get away without having all the necessary books. You won't be able to study all the test and exam material if you don't have the right books. Books can be expensive, but there should be plenty of used books available online or in bookstores.

  3. Take detailed notes of the professor’s lectures. Taking notes will help you understand the material a lot better. You remember things a lot better if you write them down.

  4. Read your books on a regular basis to keep the information fresh in your mind. Reading all the material the night before a test or exam won't be efficient because your mind won't be able to absorb all the material you're trying to cram into it.

  5. Get proper sleep the night before tests and exams. Your body will not function properly without a good night’s rest.
