How to Plan a Wedding in a Year
You have dreamt of this day since you were a little girl. You have spent a lifetime dreaming of the perfect wedding, now you only have a year until you get married. A year is not very long, but it is long enough to plan a perfect wedding. Here is how you can plan a wedding in a year.
Design a Timeline - Write down a potential timeline for your wedding. Begin with the day you found out you would get married and end with the day of your wedding. Now you can plan all of the dates in between. There are 365 days in a year. Work through each of these given days one at a time. Having a detailed timeline will also be a momentous piece of your wedding history to cherish for your lifetime.
Pick a Date - Since you know the date you are beginning to plan, you will need to pick a specific date for your wedding, one year from now. Right now, you may know it is twelve months away, but you don’t know what specific day. This is your first step to planning a wedding in a year. Picking a place may help you determine the date of your wedding. Certain places are only available on certain days or times. Many couples are placed on waiting lists for specific dates. It is not uncommon to have a one to two year wait on historical or extravagant locations. Therefore, certain places may not be an option for you. You may also want to pick a significant date in your life. When did you meet? When were your parents married? What date, one year from now, will be the perfect date to get married?
Pick a Place - There are thousands of places to get married. A simple wedding can be completed in a courthouse, park or church. Extravagant wedding locations can include ballrooms, cathedrals and museums. Determine where you would like to get married, and then contact the location to find ask about prices, dates available and regulations. Remember, the location must be available within your year timeframe. You may need to pick a second place if your first choice is not available.
Keep a List - As you begin to plan all the aspects of your wedding, keep a list of items you still need to do and plans you have completed. Make a list of places you have contacted about attire, rentals and promotions. If you keep all of your wedding materials in one place, you will be able to find the necessary information more quickly when you need it. Planning takes time and organization, especially if you only have a year to complete everything. Keeping your materials handy will make planning a little easier.
