How to Pole Dance

Pole dancing, a popular form of adult entertainment has become a mainstream fitness routine across the nation. This activity offers cardiovascular benefits often found in conventional aerobic exercises. Pole dancing blends in the sex appeal associated with the activity, which makes it an enticing form of exercise for women. It makes women feel sensual, attractive and beautiful.

  1. Stand face first toward the dance pole, while allowing your dominant hand to move up and down the pole's surface before grabbing it. Remain focused and then grab onto the pole, keeping your alternate arm straight out. Fully grasp the pole at the head level. Position your inner foot at the pole's base.

  2. Move with the rhythm of the music. Allow your body to sway naturally, gracefully moving side to side.

  3. Allow your body to form an arch by leaning back. Curve your body in an "S" fashion, while swaying seductively to the music.

  4. Straighten your body while still grasping the pole. Gradually step around the pole with your outer leg straight, while swinging it to the side and pivoting on your inside foot. Allow your knee to slightly bend as you turn.

  5. Return to your original stance, while swaying your hips along with the beat and then swing your dominant leg up and snugly hook the pole. Run your leg along the pole's surface. Lower your leg again and then place your outer foot behind the other foot. Shift your body weight to that back foot.

  6. Swing your inside leg back up, while hooking it again around the front of the pole. Slowly arch your body. Allow the music to consume you, while moving seductively with the music's tempo.

  7. Allow your body to naturally shift its own weight around the pole's surface. Continue to grasp the pole's surface. Deeply arch your back as comfortably as possible, allowing any flexibility to assist in the process. Arch backwards by letting your hand hover over to form a deeper arch. Allow your body to slither up and down along the pole's surface.
