How to Polish a Car With a Rotary Buffer
A car should be well maintained to hold its value. This not only pertains to the mechanical upkeep on the car, but the exterior must also be kept in good condition. The exterior of the car should be polished on regular basis.
A rotary buffer is great to use on the exterior of vehicles to remove light scratches in the clear coat on a car.
- Purchase a finishing polish from your local automotive supply store. If you are unfamiliar with the type you should use consult with your salesman and get a recommendation. Most salesmen are very knowledgeable when it comes to the products their store sells and should be able to point you in the right direction.
- Use a soft cloth and apply the finishing polish on the surface of the car.
- Take out your rotary buffer and attach a clean polishing pad.
- Put some clean water in a spray bottle and spray some water on the polish pad. You only want to spray enough water to dampen the pad.
- Use the buffer to spread the polish over the surface of the entire car. This should be done without turning the buffer on.
- Turn the buffer "on" to work the polish into the surface of the car.
- Turn the buffer "off" and allow the polish to dry.
- Spray the surface of the car with water and use a soft cloth to wipe it clean.
- Turn on the buffer and run in over the surface of the car again to remove any remaining haze.
