How to Prepare for the GMAT Data Sufficiency Questions
By preparing for the data sufficiency section of the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), a student will know what to expect. There are study materials a student can use that include practice questions for the data sufficiency portion of this exam. Working in a study group or taking a prep class can help the student prepare.
- Find out what to expect on the data sufficiency section of the GMAT by talking with someone who has already taken the test. You will probably not have any of the same questions, but you can reduce some of your anxiety by talking with a student who has taken the test. Make some notes so you know what to study for when you prepare for the GMAT.
- Sign up for a GMAT prep class at your school, if applicable. Find out when the next class is being held and arrange your schedule so you can take it. Meet with the instructor if you have trouble with the data sufficiency portion of the class.
- Go online to find practice questions for the GMAT. Answer many data sufficiency practice questions to prepare for the test. Learn what you did wrong so you will not make the same mistake when you take the actual GMAT.
- Talk with some students who are getting ready to take the GMAT and see if you can work together to study. Set up a time to meet each week that is convenient for everyone in your group. Work on data sufficiency and general math skills to get ready for the GMAT.
- Go to the data sufficiency questions first when you start the math portion of the GMAT. You will need to answer many math questions, so this method will get the data sufficiency portion out of the way before you start to tire. Double check your answers before you move on to the other math questions on the GMAT.
