How to Print Invitations With Microsoft Word
Invitation printing is a major expense when you are planning a large event. However, you do not have to go to a stationary store to get your invitation printing done. Instead, you can print your own professional looking invitation for all your events at home with the proper stationary and the use of Microsoft Word.
- Purchase a pre-designed cardstock from your local party store, stationary store or online vendor.
- Open a blank Word document on your computer, and select the "Page Setup" option which is under the “File” menu.
- Go to the "Margins” tab in the page setup dialog box, and choose the right, left, top and bottom margins that you would like for your document. Also, select the layout of the card, which can be either landscape or portrait. The proper margins will be on the box of stationary you purchased.
- Select the font size, color and size that you would like to use for your invitation. Remember that font sizes will depend on the style that you choose for your invitation. The typical size of font for invitations is 20pt.
- Type the invitation phrasing that you would like for your invitation into the word document that you have created. Format the invitation to your liking and make sure that you include important information such as the party details, such as date, time, location and RSVP information.
- Proofread and preview the invitation before you print it. Make sure that you print the card on an 8 1/2 by 11 inch piece of paper to see the finished result before using any of your card stock.
- Place the invitation paper into the printer appropriately. You are ready to print when everything is to your satisfaction and the invitation looks good in the preview. Print the invitations.
