How to Provide Superior Athletic Training

There is a big difference between average athletic training and superior athletic training. Above average trainers teach their athletes every little nuance about keeping their bodies healthy. Sometimes trainers have to think of clever ways to keep their athletes motivated and eager to learn.

  1. Teach the athletes how to train in a safe and healthy way. Make sure they understand that lifting with proper form is more important than how much they can actually lift. Also make sure they understand the type of injuries that could occur if they lift the wrong way.

  2. Teach the athletes how to become overall great athletes and not just good weight lifters. Sometimes athletes just try to become stronger and don't work on their speed, agility and quickness. There are many drills they can and should do to increase their overall athletic ability.

  3. Explain to the athletes why it's important to eat right. Young athletes can get away with not eating healthy all the time than older athletes. It's important that athletes understand what types of foods to eat and how important eating three wholesome meals are.

  4. Explain how proper rest is important. A lot of athletes train hard, but also play hard. Make sure they understand that the elite athletes are very disciplined in their life. The elite athletes train right, eat right and sleep right.

  5. Teach the athletes how to preserve their body by stretching properly. Stretching is something athletes can do every day to keep their muscles loose and healthy. Athletic seasons are a grind and every athlete needs to take care of their body.

  6. Motivate the athletes by showing them how much their hard work can pay off. Show high school athletes how they can earn a free education and have a chance to play college sports and maybe even professional sports.
