How to Put up a Website With Dogs for Sale
The Internet is an invaluable tool when it comes to advertising almost anything that you are selling. If you are a dog breeder, or someone who can no longer keep thier dog, the Internet allows you to reach animal lovers who are looking for a new pet. To get the most interest, you'll want to put up a website that allows you to show and describe the dogs that you are selling.
- Take pictures of the dogs or puppies that you want to sell. Use a camera that allows you to download images to your computer or, if you do not have a digital camera, take pictures and scan them. The images should be taken in good light and should clearly show the dogs coloring and desirable features or markings.
- Write down a description of each dog or puppy that you plan to sell. Your description should include the dog's age, weight, coloring, and any distinguishable markings. Include a blurb about the animal's personality and temperament. Also include information regarding whether they are updated on all of the appropriate vaccinations and shots for its age. If you are selling an older dog, explain your reasoning for selling it.
- Write down how much you are selling the dogs for. The prices may be based on gender, age or they may vary according to each dog.
- Determine whether you want to pay for a website or if you want to use a free website creator or hosting service, such as Weebly, Yola or Wix. Depending on the web host, free services may include some advertising, limited features or a domain that includes the name of the provider.
- Sign up for the web hosting service of your choice and follow its directions for registering and choosing a domain name. Select from available designs, if that is an option, or you may choose to design your own web page or hire someone to do it for you.
- Determine your layout and insert the images and pricing of the dogs to your website.
- Include a "Contact Us" page so that potential buyers know how to reach you to schedule time to see the puppies.
- Create an "About Us" page to tell visitors about yourself, and the dogs and puppies that you are selling. Include information on the parentage of the dogs, your history selling dogs and any championships or papers that you have regarding the dogs or thier parents.
