How to Re-Register for Your CNA Certificate Online

If you have a CNA certificate that will be expiring soon, you will need to re-register to remain certified.  This can be done on the computer through an online application that is provided through the government website where you live.

  1. Begin the process of re-registration at least three months before the expiration of your current certification.  This will allow all paperwork to go through so that you will have your new certificate before the old one expires.

  2. Locate the CNA application for online re-registration.  A link for this application should be provided on the government website for the state that you live in.

  3. Read through any instructions provided carefully before filling out your application.  You may need to meet educational requirements to be able to re-register and you will need to make sure that you have already met these requirements before you fill out the CNA application.

  4. Fill out the application for re-registration making sure that you have filled out all areas with the proper information.  This is important so that you will be able to get your new certification in a timely manner.

  5. Submit your application online and make sure that you have provided a valid email so that you will get verification that your application was received and is being processed.  Print the verification email when you get it so that you can keep the paperwork for your records.  You may need this verification if you do not receive your new certification in the mail.
