How to Release Ford Air Conditioning Hoses

Releasing the Ford air conditioning hose depends on which type of hose that needs to be released. There's the high pressure AC house which is the small hose and the low pressure AC hose which is the large hose. Lifting the car will be required to begin the process of releasing the Ford air conditioning hose.

  1. Locate the air conditioning line on the Ford vehicle, which is located under the hood.

  2. Lift up the car and evacuate the AC system for the small hose.

  3. Move the air mass meter and intake hose to the side once removed.

  4. Release the exhaust manifold heat shield.

  5. Place the bypass valve to the side after removal.

  6. Remove the fan motor housing followed by the turbo pressure hose. If the Ford is automatic remove the oil cooler hose also.

  7. Remove both the AC pressure hose to the compressor and the AC pressure hose to the drier and refit in reverse.

  8. Lift up the car and remove the passenger headlight and turn signal for the large Ford air conditioning hose.

  9. Repeat the same steps used to release the small hose after removing the passenger headlight in order to release the large air conditioning hose on the Ford vehicle.

  10. Ensure that the correct size hoses are used in order to replace the old hose properly.

  11. Use the correct tools to release the air conditioning hose, such as screwdrivers, wire pliers, drain pain, knife, replacement clamps, steel wool or sand paper and funnel. Ensure that the correct amount of antifreeze is used as well.
