How to Remodel a Small Bathroom

Remodeling a small bathroom takes planning and creativity. The idea is to get the most out of the space you have. Moreover, you need to make the bathroom look and feel roomy, even if it is small, which is where the planning comes in. If you choose a huge soaking tub that takes up half of the bathroom, it will not work. Therefore, you have to use the space you have wisely.

  1. Think
small when it comes to the appliances in your bathroom. If you
currently have the original sink, toilet, and tub, this is probably
a good time to replace them for some modern, maybe smaller options.
Remember, the bigger the items are in the bathroom, the smaller it
will feel. You can still have the same items but in a
    smaller version.

  2. Remove
all the appliances, sink, toilet and tub (turn off water first!).
Replace your sink with a pedestal sink that takes up much less room,  and they make the bathroom look modern and sleek. This works well if the
small bathroom you are remodeling is a second bathroom.

  3. Replace
the tub with a stand-up shower, leaving no bathtub at
all. This will save you a lot of space and make the bathroom appear spacious. After all, if this is a second bathroom and you
have another with a bathtub, this would probably work fine
    for you and your family.

  4. Replace
your toilet with a newer and smaller version. While this
won't make a huge difference, it will look very nice and make the
    bathroom appear very updated.

  5. Paint
your wall with light colors since this makes small spaces
look larger. Stay away from dark paints when you have a small room
to remodel. Colors that work well in small bathrooms are a very pale
sea green or pale blue since both are relaxing and will make the
    bathroom feel warm and inviting.

  6. Replace
the lighting in your bathroom. Adding more lighting will make
the space appear bigger. If you have a window in the bathroom, take
advantage of the natural light by using light-colored window
    treatments.

  7. Use
the wall shelves to put your necessities, but do not create a cluttered wall,
since this will also make it appear smaller. In addition, add clear
towel bars to your wall.  Anything clear can help make the room feel
    more spacious.
