How to Remove Golf Shoes Cleats
Golf shoes are expensive golf accessory, and need to be replaced every season or every other year. This can be very draining on the wallet. There is a way to make the golf shoe accessory more affordable, so you can spend your extra money on greens fees, clubs or lessons.
- Clamp the
shoes into a vise, with the sole sticking up. Insert a piece of wood
into the shoe and clamp the shoe into a mounted vise. This will
secure the shoe, which makes it easy to use the proper tools to
remove the cleat. - Make sure the
shoe is secure in the vise. Clean out all the dirt from the cleats
and the sole of the shoe. Apply a few drops of Mystery Oil or
cleaning liquid to the cleat area. - Wait an hour
for the oil to seep into the cleat screw. It will help to loosen
dirt, loosen the cleat and make removing the cleat easier. - Place your
cleat removal tool into the holes that are on the cleat. Apply
pressure downwards, onto the sole of the shoe. Twist the tool using
short motions. This will jar the cleat screw and eventually release
it from the mount. Use your free hand to grip the shoe, which will
provide extra support to the shoe as you twist the cleat off. - Continue
until the golf cleat is removed from the shoe, and repeat the entire
process on each cleat. Repeat the process on the other shoe, until all cleats are off of the shoe.
