How To Remove Hair Extension Bonds

  1. Separate each track from the other track. You can do this by using a hairpin or clip to separate the hair.

  2. Spray each track with oil sheen. If you do not have any oil sheen you can use baby oil on each track. Oil will thin out the glue and cause the tracks to slide out easily. This is why when wearing hair weave it is important not to put oil sheen in your hair.

  3. Apply hair-bond remover to each track as well. Use a generous amount for each track. This lotion can be purchased in most beauty supply stores. This lotion is made to dissolve the glue that was applied to the hair tracks.

  4. Allow the bond remover to saturate and sit on the tracks for at least 15 minutes. After the 15 minutes is up, slide your finger under the track to loosen it.

  5. Slide the track out of your hair. It should come out easy. Remove the excess hair glue with a wide-tooth comb. Wash your hair in cold water with a de-tangling shampoo.
