How to Remove Moss From Roof Shingles
Moss can reduce the life of your shingles and make your home look horrible. It is very important to get rid of it as soon as you see it beginning to build up on your roof. There are ways to safely remove the moss without causing any damage to your expensive shingles.
Items Needed To Remove Moss:
Hydrogen peroxide-based roof cleaner
Warm water
Garden pump sprayer
Medium deck brush
Steps To Remove Moss From Shingles
Take your hydrogen peroxide-based roof cleaner and mix it with warm water. You should use enough to wash your complete roof. Allow the mixture to activate for about 25 minutes. Stir the mixture occasionally.
Put the mixture into the garden pump sprayer. Make sure the solution has been mixed well to avoid clogging the spray nozzle.
Spray all the areas of the roof that have been affected with the moss. It is important to get the area saturated.
Scrub the area with the medium deck brush, use circular motions and rinse the area completely. For those using a pressure washer it is okay to soak the complete roof and allow it to dry.
