Before renting a tent there are things you must do find the right rental company.
- Determine how many people will be attending your event. Figure out the number of chairs and tables that will need to fit under the tent. Make sure you take into consideration special space you will need for items such as stages, dance floors or banquet tables.
- Measure the space you have for your tent to be set up. Make sure you give yourself a little extra room.
- Determine whether you will be purchasing sidewalls. Sidewalls cost a little more, but will protect you if you are unsure of how the weather will be on the day of your event.
- Ask friends or family members if they know of any party rental locations in the area. You can always find a good rental company by word of mouth. You may even be able to receive a discount.
- Check your Yellow Pages directory. If you are unable to locate a party rental company by word or mouth check in your directory. Once you find a company find out what type of tents and sizes they have for rent.
- Ask the rental company about their prices. Make sure you go in person to see the tents before making any type of commitment. You want to make sure you see what you are getting before locking in to a contract.
- Inform your local gas and electric company about the even and have them mark off any underground lines. Make sure you do this well in advance to give the companies time to do this. It usually takes most gas and electric companies a few days to do this.
- Place your order for your tent and set the date for delivery. Verify the date a couple of times to ensure it will be delivered on before your event.
