How to Repair a Glass Patio Table
Patio tables made with a glass top look as beautiful as a nice summer day. The only difference is the patio table can crack and make the table unsuitable for use. The ruined tabletop does not have to be thrown out. It can be repaired at home to save you time and money.
How to Repair a Glass Patio Table
Materials Needed
- Glass cleaner
- Newspaper
- Glass repair kit
- Cloth
- Spray glass cleaner over the patio table. Crumple up newspaper to wipe the table. Take another piece of newspaper, crumple it and dry the table. Allow the table to dry for an additional 30 minutes.
- You will need a glass repair kit to repair the table. Remove the adhesive disc from the kit, remove the hole from it and peel the backing.
- Stick the disc around the crack in the table. The adhesive side should adhere to the table. The crack should be in the middle of the disc. The tab on the disc should point upwards.
- Remove the back from the top of the disc that is over the crack in the table. Remove the syringe from the repair kit. Press the top part of the syringe pedestal on the top of the disc. The tab on the syringe should align with the tab on top of it.
- Remove the cap from the syringe in the kit and place it into the syringe pedal that is secured to the disc. Twist the syringe pedestal to secure the syringe.
- Pull the plunger on the syringe. This will remove all pockets of air from the crack on the table. The repair compound will be injected into the crack. Pull the plunger 15 times.
- Remove the syringe and pedestal. Place the glass patio table in an area for 30 minutes to allow the compound to set. Use a damp cloth to remove any excess compound.
