How to Reset My Car Alarm Fobs for a Hyundai Tiburon

These cute little key fobs that everyone has today to lock and unlock their cars are one heck of a nifty item. If it is raining you can have the door unlocked and waiting for you when you get there. But what happens when that little battery runs down? You can change it but then it needs to be reset. Don’t worry, you can do it yourself very easily.

You will need a small jumper wire to accomplish the reset.

  1. Locate on the driver’s side underneath the dashboard and just below the steering column the Tiburon’s programming connector to the cars alarm system.

  2. Remove the cover and find the terminals labeled number 4 and number 7.

  3. Use the jumper wire to connect those two terminals to each other.

  4. While pressing and holding either the “Lock” or “Unlock” button until you see the LED light on the remote flash on and then back off again.

  5. Let the button go and that will complete the programming back to normal.

  6. Remove the jumper wire and replace the cover on the programming module.

Another method that may work and it is even simpler than this one. Nothing is required to complete this process.

  1. Get into your car using the ignition key. Leave the drivers door open while you perform this exercise.

  2. Put the key into the ignition and turn it to the “On” or “Run” position. Do not start the car, just put the key in the "On" position.

  3. Push the “Valet” button one time and wait for the horn to let out a chirp and press the “Valet” button down and hold it down.

  4. Hold the “Valet” button down and press and release the button that you want to program. Once you hear the horn chirp again you will have re-programmed your remote for that button.

  5. Do the same with any other buttons you may need to program again.
