It is becoming very common to host a divorce party for friends. It started out as a way to lift their spirits and has become a celebration of freedom and the start of a new life. There are several themes you can choose from and each of those has very different supplies.

• Check your local party store for great gag gifts to keep everyone laughing and entertained. Pick up the bar card game which list things you must do on each card, such as getting a phone number or drinking a shot.


• Try a lunch with close friends, if you prefer a more toned down celebration. Offer gift certificates for massages, art classes, yoga, coffee shops or anywhere else you know a newly single person may like to go.
